On August 19, a devastating fire displaced Donny Nicolosi and several members of his family from their longtime home on Sydney Street in Medford.

This was not simply Donny’s house, it was the Nicolosi family home for approximately 45 years. Donny lived there with his father, brother, sister, and his niece Stephanie. In a matter of moments, five members of one family lost the safety, stability, and familiarity of the home their family has shared for nearly half a century.

Thankfully, everyone is safe, but they are now facing an extremely frightening and uncertain situation. The American Red Cross is only covering three nights in a hotel, and the family currently believes there may be no homeowners insurance to help them recover. They urgently need assistance with continued temporary housing, basic necessities, and figuring out where they will go from here.

Donny has been a close friend of our family since childhood and is genuinely one of the most kindhearted and selfless people you could ever meet. He has always been concerned about the well-being of others and constantly looks for ways to help without ever expecting anything in return. Over the years, he has repeatedly reached out to help my sisters and I whenever we've needed it. That is just the kind of person Donny is.

Now Donny and his family need others to come together for them.

• Food, clothing, toiletries, medications, and daily necessities

• Replacing essential belongings affected by the fire

• Transportation and costs associated with finding stable housing

• Cleanup, recovery, and the many unexpected expenses that follow a house fire

All funds raised will go directly to the family, to help them remain safely housed and begin rebuilding their lives after this devastating loss.
