One week ago, my dad had to have an emergency surgery. It was discovered he had become septic and nearly had a heart attack. 

After he was well enough to undergo surgery, he had some of the infection removed. Then he had another surgery that resulted in him hemorrhaging. He once again had to go under the knife - this time with no anesthesia. 

His injuries are beginning to heal, but it will take weeks before he is able to leave the hospital. In the meantime, medical bills are piling up and he’s on unpaid leave from work.
