Help the Myers Family with Funeral Cost

I was asked by the family to start a Gofundme to help cover the cost of the Funeral and another cost for Anne, Izzy, Cody, Saraya and Brianna. Michael was a stay-at-home dad and Anne was/is the sole income provider for her, Michael and Izzy.

Here is a brief outline of this nightmare, it all began around Thanksgiving 2022. What started as Pneumonia and Water in the lungs, went from Bad to worst in a very short period. The family has spent over 3 months in hospitals. Michael was admitted to Langley Hospital to treat Pneumonia and quickly went downhill very fast.

Between being admitted on Oct 10 to 17 he suffered a broken shoulder, kidney failure, dialysis, Afib to being unresponsive. He was transferred to Surrey hospital ICU where he was placed on a ventilator, (life support) by Oct 19 it was touch and go. On Day 26 of his hospital stay they tried to reduce the sedation and were able to get some responses. On day 35 Michael is more responsive and remembers the fall that broke his arm. Due to the negligence of the medical personnel in Langley. At this point, they overdosed him with Fentanyl and had to Narcan him, no fault on Michale's part, but was solely due to the neglect of the medical staff in charge of his care. Days 26-39 discovered a bacterial infection due to the lines of the Afib and was placed back on full life support. Day 41 went in for Surgery to place a trig line and was successful things are starting to improve. Nov 18 Michael wakes up with no life support and can't talk yet (due to Comma/life support) but is awake and alert. Nov 20 gets to go for a spin in the wheelchair with Anne, one of the best news in many days for everyone. December 2 all Lines have been removed and we have a new man. By Dec 14 he is out and about getting ready to have the valve repair for the Defib line to his heart. On December 15 Anne gets a sleepover and on December 24 they all enjoy and Turkey dinner for 3! Michael is video chatting and making plans for the future with friends and family.

There was a plan to transfer him to a Vancouver Hospital on January 4th, to have a defib line repaired because of the damage to the heart due to the prolonged time on life support, things are looking great and Michael is on the mend and things are going great, and only positive news.

Early January 1, 2023 things went from great to the worst news anyone could hear. Michael's floor mate a few beds over saw Michael was having issues, he was in a cardiac ward and was found unresponsive, he was not hooked up to any heart monitors, even though he was in the cardiac ward. Had he been connected to monitors the nursing staff would have been alerted right away, and the proper measurement and procedures would have taken place. Failure of medical staff, cause severe brain trauma. His heart stopped twice. After multiple family meetings with ICU doctors, and CT Scans of the brain on January 3rd at 2 pm the family was given the worst news possible Michael Myers has no Brain activity and is declared Brain Dead. On January 4th the family will be removing all life support measures and Michael Myers will be gone.

This family has helped a lot of people over the years and I hope that we collectively can help Anne and the family cover the funeral expenses. He deserves a great send-off, and Anne and the family could use the support as funerals are a very big expense.
