My friend's parents, Suzi and Alex Munoz, encountered a tragedy recently. After years of hard work and sacrifices, they paid off the mortgage of their home and finally owned it. A home they both recently renovated and filled with love and memories of the children they raised inside and grandchildren they have welcomed. Because the mortgage was paid off, home insurance was dropped. While in the process of selecting new home insurance, they were also helping my friend get married. On August 8th, the DAY BEFORE my friend's wedding, a large tree fell and struck her parents' house while they were getting things ready for the wedding. The large tree decimated the house and narrowly missed striking Suzi and another relative inside the home.

Authorities came out to assess the damage caused by the tree and declared the home a total loss. Suzi and Alex have lost all their belongings save for a few salvageable items. They have no roof over their head, no beds, no long-term place to stay, and now face the daunting task of rebuilding their home. They are known in their community as humble people who always lend a helping hand to anyone in need. They have raised a loving family and often do not ask anything for themselves. When they had no home and lost everything inside their home, Suzi and Alex showed up and supported their daughter with smiles and laughter on her wedding day. Their strength and determination kept their daughter's wedding day as special and beautiful as it could be under the circumstances.

Please feel free to donate to these AMAZING people. They deserve to have the opportunity to rebuild their home to continue to love and support their children and grandchildren. They have worked hard in the community. Now they need the support and help from their community in return, though they never have asked for it. Los padres de mi amiga, Suzi y Alex Muñoz, sufrieron una tragedia recientemente. Tras años de arduo trabajo y sacrificios, pagaron la hipoteca de su casa y finalmente la adquirieron. Una casa que ambos renovaron recientemente y que llenaron de amor y recuerdos de los hijos que criaron y los nietos que han dado la bienvenida. Como la hipoteca estaba pagada, cancelaron el seguro de hogar. Mientras buscaban un nuevo seguro, también estaban ayudando a mi amiga a casarse. El 8 de agosto, el día anterior a la boda de mi amiga, un gran árbol cayó e impactó la casa de sus padres mientras preparaban todo para la boda. El árbol destruyó la casa y estuvo a punto de golpear a Suzi y a otro familiar que se encontraba dentro.

Autoridades acudieron para evaluar los daños causados por el árbol y declararon la casa como pérdida total. Suzi y Alex han perdido todas sus pertenencias, salvo algunas que pudieron recuperar. No tienen techo, ni camas, ni un lugar donde quedarse a largo plazo, y ahora enfrentan la abrumadora tarea de reconstruir su hogar. Son conocidos en su comunidad como personas humildes que siempre brindan ayuda a quien la necesita. Han criado una familia amorosa y a menudo no piden nada para sí mismos. Cuando se quedaron sin hogar y perdieron todo lo que tenían dentro, Suzi y Alex se presentaron y apoyaron a su hija con sonrisas y risas el día de su boda. Su fuerza y determinación hicieron que el día de la boda de su hija fuera tan especial y hermoso como pudo ser dadas las circunstancias.
