UPDATE: 10/25/24
Hi Family and Friends a 3 month update on Steve and all of his progress he has made so far. The Mud Man after weeks in Rehab finally came home in August. Steve had Dialysis every Monday, Wednesday and Friday all the month of August. We all were praying that his numbers would get better and his kidneys would work on their own. Which at the end of August they did recover and was taken off Dialysis. Thank God. We were all so happy and grateful for such wonderful news.
Also August through November Steve has to go to Cardio Rehab. It hasn't been easy but whatever it takes to get stronger-mind and body.
By September he started to walk on his own, do some light cooking and also drive. He is not back to work yet. But in due time he will be back to what loves doing most. We are truly grateful for his steady progress. We all took a family trip to Raton last week and went fishing something Steve has been patiently waiting to do. Steve was able to go fishing and visit with family and friends. Much needed getaway.
We just wanted to Thank everyone for all the love, prayers, phone calls, cards, food and all the wonderful donations. We really appreciate each and everyone who kept us going. We are so blessed and happy to have our Miracle man home!!
A million times we Thank God, Family and friends. We are forever grateful.
Time to make more memories
Love Steve, Corrina, Brandi, Megan and family
*Never give up-Family is everything-Life is good*
On behalf of Steve Ortiz, The Mud Mans daughters, Brandi and Megan we are creating this GoFundMe for our Dads medical bills and personal expenses as he had an emergency surgery. Our Dad had an Aortic dissection on July 6th, a life threatening surgery which took 6 hours to save his life. What a blessing our Dad survived the surgery. He was put into a induced coma for 8 days on life support. He spent a total of 13 days in ICU. By the grace of God our Dad woke up and spoke to us. He is definitely a miracle. Our Dad never gave up. He kept fighting to survive. With the support and prayers of his family and friends. We know, prayers are powerful and God gave our Dad back to us and we are forever grateful! He still needs to learn to walk and do everyday activities to get stronger and fully heal. As of July 21st he was discharged and taken to a Rehabilitation facility in Rio Rancho. Which could be up to 4 more weeks.
Our Dad has always been such a hard worker and dedicated to his business The Mud Man, which he and our Mom has worked together for the past 25 years. Our Dad is so passionate about his family, faith, work, cooking and fishing. As you all know my parents have been married for 41 years. They live together, work together go on walks together and now our Mom will be our Dads main care giver.
Lets help get the Mud Man back to work and enjoying life once again. We are asking for any donations in this difficult time. If you are unable to donate please continue to pray for The Mud Man, our Miracle Man, Mom and family. God is good and God bless all of you.
Thank you all so kindly,
With love Brandi and Megan
