Help the Balushkas find a home away from Ukraine
Donation protected
We are friends of the Balushka family.
Khrystyna Balushka, a Ukrainian-born artist, lived and worked in Houston, Texas, for more than a decade. We met her mother Tetiana “Mamushka” and father Igor, growing close to the family over the years. Unfortunately, Khrystyna passed in 2018 after a battle with cancer, only one week after her father died due to an unrelated illness. Now, her mother Tetiana has been forced from her home in Odesa, Ukraine, in the wake of the Russian invasion, along with seven other members of the Balushka family.
Please help us to help them. Essentially homeless in the exodus of this terrible war, the invasion of Ukraine has torn the Balushka family in two. While the men have stayed to fight for their country (their home), Tetiana, Iryna, Masha, Veronika and their children have temporarily sheltered in Bucharest after fleeing with nothing.
We started this campaign to help them maintain a safe distance from the conflagration in the hope of covering the costs of a few life essentials like food, clothing, shelter and medicine.
Please, please, please HELP US TO HELP THEM. We can make a difference one family at a time, bottom line. This is the Balushka family, and they need your support.
Our plan is as follows:
Food, clothing, shelter and medicine for eight people, for three months:
Housing: $2,000 / mo.
Groceries: $2,500 / mo.
Medical: $500 / mo.
Transit from eastern Europe: $1,500
Basic living expenses like clothing and household supplies: $3,000
----------- Goal: $19,500
Anything you can give will make a difference. All proceeds go directly to Tetiana, the family Matriarch. We affectionately call her “Mamushka.” Please help Mamushka and her family survive this travesty so that they may return to their homes in Ukraine to rebuild one day.
We appreciate your consideration.
