Help the Moses Family Rebuild After Hurricane Helene
Donation protected
Hello, we are Rob and Brenda Hudson from Clinton, SC. We are long-time close friends of Amos and Jen Moses and their two children, Sereena (18) and Samuel (17). Up until Hurricane Helene, they lived in Saluda, NC.
When the storm hit our area, we lost power for 5 days, and had no phone/cellphone for 3 days. We wondered how the Moses family did during the storm, hoping they were in the the same situation we were--no power, no phone, but no damage to our home or family. When we finally had contact with them 3 days after the storm, we were horrified (and elated at the same time) to find out that their home had been surrounded by flooding and landslides in all directions, and had barely escaped with their lives, a few belongings in backpacks and miraculously hiked their way up the mountain in the only direction that had a bridge intact and reached a portion of road where friends were able to pick them up in a vehicle and got them to safety. People have been very kind to help them by letting them stay in their home while temporary housing could be secured. Amos, Jen, and the kids are so very grateful for God allowing them to get out safely and have the kindness of friends to help them, but are still reeling from the effects of Hurricane Helene. They have lost nearly everything they have known and had for the last 7 years. Their home is gone as they knew it, their belongings unattainable and memories washed away in the aftermath of the hurricane. We are reaching out to share their story after Hurricane Helene devastated their home and way of life. The Moses Family has faced significant challenges due to flooding in their house and loss of belongings, and we want to support them as they begin to rebuild their lives. They need a permanent home to live in, and funds to start to piece their life back together after this traumatic ordeal. We are hoping to raise money to provide a down payment for a house and funds to purchase furniture; appliances; household and kitchen essentials; home office equipment (for both homeschooling and personal office space); exercise equipment for Amos' post-stroke medical condition; pantry essentials; winter coats/jackets and accessories; replace the children's musical instruments and sheet music; and Samuel's woodworking tools. Your generosity can make a meaningful difference in their recovery process. Thank you for considering helping during this difficult time.
