Devastation from Hurricane Debby
Dear Friends,
Many of us have had the pleasure of knowing Dana & Corey Moseley. Our children have grown up together, and we’ve shared in the joy of seeing Mrs. Moseley teach our children with such passion at Celebration K-8. For 12 years, the Moseleys were more than just residents of Celebration; they were part of the heart and soul of our community. We all looked forward to seeing them serve with such warmth and dedication at Illuminate Church.
Recently, Dana shared a heart-wrenching story on Facebook about the devastation their family faced when Hurricane Debby flooded their home where they now live in Live Oak, Florida. The damage is extensive, and while they’ve applied for FEMA assistance, the funds they expect to receive won’t be nearly enough to restore their home to what it once was—a safe and loving haven for their family.
This family has given so much to our community, and now they need our help. Please take a moment to read their story and consider making a donation. Let’s come together to support Corey, Dana, and their children in rebuilding their home and their lives.
May God bless the Moseley family, and may we all be inspired to give as generously as they have always given to us (and please share). Thank YOU!
Kind regards,
Carol Loch
Please see Dana’s post below:
Our house was flooded during Hurricane Debby. It’s not a total loss but it is pretty devastating. The entire downstairs was ankle to knee deep in water. Our yard is still too flooded for us to begin demolition/reconstruction of the inside. We have asked for help from the county about pumping water off our property but were told they don’t do that. So, we have to wait for it to dry up. Our house is NOT located in a flood zone. Many have asked what we need and the answer is “we aren’t sure”. Unfortunately, this won’t be a total DIY situation as we will have to have professionals do a lot of the clean up and repairs. Of course, we will do what we can to save money. If you have been through this situation, I would love for you to reach out with advice. It’s all extremely overwhelming.
UPDATE 8/26: We started demo today. There was a lot of mold/damage.. more than anticipated. This is going to be a huge project ..
