Hi! My name is Victoria(Tori) as most of you know I'm Joshua's sister. Were 3 years apart . On Saturday July 12th i got a phone call from my mom(Robin) that soon would flip our entire families worlds on its heads. Josh had been Bull Riding in a rodeo in Woodstock, something hed come to love doing over the last 9 months or so, and his ride had gone very VERY wrong. He was transported to Woodstock general hospital where he was quickly stabilized and from there he was transferred to the Critical Care Trauma Unit at Victoria Hospital LHSC in london where he has been for the last 5 days in a medically induced coma . Joshs injuries are extensive. He has many small brain bleeds , he had a collapsed lung , and a dislocated hip which later was found to also be fractured. We currently do not know the extent of the brain injury Josh will have as they have not be able to do a proper neurological assessment , we do know he has been having issues with pupillary response in his left eye but do not know what is causing it and wont know until hes brought out of sedation.
I started this gofundme to try and help my parents who are now experiencing this for the second time in less than 10 years and unfortunately this is a VERY different situation.. they have been by my brothers side all week and as my dad has no vacation currently he has had to take unpaid time from work. My brother is also going to be off work for a significant amount of time and will most likely require more rehabilitation services than is covered by his benefits, if we can not access government funded services we will be required to pay out of pocket. We are also travelling close to 4 hours a day between home and the hospital to be able to be with my brother. The extra expenses are adding up very quickly If you can donate to help my family even the littlest bit helps , and if you cant donate please share this . Thank you to everyone who took the time to read this , we appreciate all of the love and support weve received so far
