Tragedy has struck one of our own families at Asbury Grove. On Sunday, October 12, a devastating fire broke out at 21 Essex Ave., the home of Pam and Tim Morris and their son Nathaniel. By God’s grace, everyone made it out safely. Though the flames were contained quickly thanks to the Hamilton Fire Department, the heartbreak of losing their home and belongings is overwhelming and will linger far beyond the smoke. But by the Grace of God, they are surrounded by a community that cares for them deeply.
Pam and Tim Morris have been married for over 45 years. They are the proud parents of four sons and grandparents to five grandchildren, with their sixth due any day now. They are a quiet, faith-filled family now facing a heartbreaking season of loss and uncertainty.
Where Your Donation Goes
Tim and Pam are facing a long and overwhelming road to recovery. They currently need support for immediate, essential needs as they navigate temporary housing and the insurance process:
- Immediate Needs: The most immediate need is clothing: Women's size: XL, Shoe 9.5 and Men's XL and 2XL, Shoe 14 and 10.5. They are currently staying in an open cottage in the seasonal section of Asbury Grove, but that closes at the end of the month.
- Basic Replacements: Funds to replace essentials like furniture, kitchen items, bedding, and electronics lost in the fire.
- Long-Term Security: Coverage for insurance deductibles, unexpected costs associated with cleanup, and the initial funds needed to begin the process of rebuilding or securing a new permanent home.
Our Goal
We are setting a goal of $18,000 (edit: raised!) to give the Morris family a foundation to start over. Every single donation, no matter the size, is a profound blessing and an act of God’s love in action.
