Help the Morgan Family Save Their Home

Donation protected
This past December, our daughter Brandi and our son-in-law Matt thought they were purchasing the perfect home for their family of 6. Zane and Gracelyn (13), Annabelle (9), and Norah (6) have loved this home since they've lived there and enjoyed the freedoms they have on the property and country living. Unfortunately, in June of this year Matt discovered a small leak behind a panel of their master bathroom tub. Hoping it would be a quick fix, a contractor was called in to assess the situation. He discovered that the water damage was very extensive and had spread into the bedroom. Brandi and Matt were asked to move everything out of their bedroom in July so the contractor could tear out carpets and demo the bathroom and the subfloor of the bedroom. In the middle of the reconstruction, while on a camping trip with the family, Brandi fell and broke her arm and has since been placed on light work duty until nearly the end of the year. This has been devastating to their income until she is released to work. With a few delays from the contractor and Brandi's reconstructive surgery, they continued to sleep in their living room for nearly two months. During the contractor's last visit, he removed a section of the wall behind the walk-in shower and stopped work immediately. He had found what he thought was mold and called Servpro to investigate further and determine if it was mold. An air quality test was performed inside their bedroom, living room, and exterior of the house and they were told results would be in within a week. Two days later, while at work Matt received a call and heard the words no homeowner and father of four ever wants to hear. He was told that the family had to vacate and leave the property immediately. The black mold spore count of the air quality test was the highest the specialist had ever seen. Brandi and Matt were devastated and feared that they purchased this home only to put themselves and their children in harm's way. Especially Gracelyn and Annabelle, whom both suffer from Cystic Fibrosis. Since the discovery of the mold, Brandi, Matt and the four kids have been displaced, bouncing from house to house to have a place to stay. Currently, with help from some friends, they are staying in a camper at their property, trying to have some normalcy and not bothering friends and family. It was recently discovered that moisture and mold had spread into their living room. They've been informed that the potential cost of the mold remediation could exceed $50,000, of which their insurance will only cover up to $10,000. With the high cost, they fear they will have no choice but to walk away from the property. Not only are we looking to assist Brandi and Matt with the cost of the mold remediation, but we are also hoping to find their family a more suitable place to live while this process continues through what we hope will be reconstruction.
Thank you for all of your continued prayers and kindness as we continue to help Brandi, Matt and the kids get through this difficult time.
