Help the Morales Family In Time of Need

Story

Hi, my name is Victor del Cid and I’m fundraising for my good friend and coworker Dany and his wife Mayra Morales. This is a very difficult and painful time. Not really sure where to begin and how to express everything that has happened over the past couple days. I’ll start by saying that some of you may know us from either Turkey Point or the Port Saint Lucie Nuclear Power Plants. We’ve both worked in Maintenance and Ops throughout our careers. Dany and I came up through the Miami Dade College-IBEW Apprenticeship program back in 2009. I remember when we started as Electrical Maintenance apprentices we would carpool together to work and Mayra would drop us off early in the morning so she could use the car and go to school while Dany worked. To say they are a family of love, compassion, and humility is an understatement. They are both some of the most wonderful people I know and that showed in their children. It’s with a very heavy and sad heart that Julian, Dany’s eldest son, passed away in the early morning hours of November 5th after a long and brave battle with Dyskeratosis Congenita, a rare genetic form of bone marrow failure at the age of 10. After several attempts at a bone marrow transplant and a long stint in Cincinnati for post-operation recovery, Julian had finally made it back home to Homestead but had to return after only about 1 month. I ask that you please consider donating to the Morales Family. I am speaking for them because if you know Dany and Mayra, they are not ones to ask for help outright. They are humble and hardworking people, struggling and coping now with an inconceivable loss. Thank you all for taking the time to visit the page and for considering a donation.
