It is with a heavy heart that The Chapman Avenue Community of Bellmore, NY is reaching out to you regarding our dear friends.
On Wednesday, February 11, 2025, the Mora and Glynn families experienced an unimaginable tragedy. At approximately 4:30 AM, a fire destroyed their homes. Two houses, side by side. In a matter of moments, everything these families owned — clothing, furniture, personal belongings, vehicles, irreplaceable memories, and all the things we take for granted — are gone!
In this tragedy, the Mora family lost beloved John Mora, a wonderful and kind husband, father, friend, and neighbor. John’s wife, Marie, is in the hospital recovering from her injuries. The Mora family's dog and cat (Luna and Kiki), cherished members of their family, were inside the home and did not survive. John and Marie's children (Greg, Alex and Mariana) were not in the home at that time.
Thankfully, everyone in the Glynn family (Tom, Ann, Caitlin and Tommy) made it out safely.
The members of these two families are truly the kindest, most genuine people you could ever meet – the type who would drop everything to help anyone in need without hesitation. Now, they’re the ones who need help. This fundraiser will be shared equally with these two families as they begin the long process of rebuilding their lives during this challenging time.
Please help with this fundraiser by contributing whatever you can, and by sharing the link and posting it on your social media. Any donation, no matter the size, will make a difference.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support.
