Help the Mitchell - Vuong Family with Olivia’s Recovery

Our family’s hearts have been heavy as our dear Olivia got hospitalized after a terrible accident on Christmas Day in Atlanta, Georgia. She was visiting her Mother’s side of the family from Delaware for the holidays.

After the incident, she was rushed into surgery right away to make sure there was no internal bleeding in her vital organs. Her liver was severely lacerated and kidneys badly bruised after closely monitoring her abdominal area for two days. Olivia needed 4 pints of blood during this time. The doctors put her on ventilation for a few days to let her abdomen rest and repair itself while her parents rotated to watch her but were not allowed to give her any physical touch or stimulation to the heart and brain while she was heavily medicated. She was discharged out of the Intensive Care Unit last week but had to immediately go back in to the ICU to monitor risks of infection as her body has suffered an immense trauma.

My name is Vivian and I am Olivia’s eldest cousin, and godmother, and I am setting up this GoFundMe to help her parents, Isabelle and Bob get through Olivia’s recovery with as little financial stress as possible.

Bob & Izy have had to monitor her 24/7 since the accident, and our extended family in Atlanta has been taking care of their youngest daughter Juliet and helping with food deliveries. Since the Mitchell family are out of state and still unsure how long Olivia’s recovery will be, Bob will have to take leave of absence from work while we figure out how to get Jules back to Delaware to start school. Izy plans to stay in Atlanta with Olivia until her full recovery and ability to travel back home.

Olivia just turned 17 in December 2025 and is one of the sweetest kids you will ever meet. She has a kind soul and a naturally gentle spirit. This last semester, she was invited to join her school’s Honor Society and has her heart set on attending Elizabethtown University to study Engineering once she graduates high school next year. Our Olivia loves to play softball, is an avid reader, is very active in her school’s theater program, and has been in the Girl Scouts for 12 years and achieved the rank of Ambassador Scout.

Her recovery is our biggest challenge as our family is trying to keep her and her Mom in the state of Georgia near the care team for check ups and physical therapy for rehab. She still has a long journey ahead of her but we are staying positive and hoping for the best outcome.

If you could donate a little bit of money to our family, we would be so grateful. And if you can’t, sharing with your social or work network to help us reach our goal can be very beneficial.

Every dollar counts and is deeply appreciated.

I know that Olivia will be able to heal quickly as she is strong willed, young, and resilient. Thank you for taking the time and effort to help support the Mitchell / Vuong family. We look forward to Olivia being back home safe and sound.

From Isabelle, her Mother,

“I just want to say that being parents and not being able to touch or hug your child for 5 days has been the toughest part for me. Olivia’s our baby girl, to see her go through all this pain breaks our hearts and we just want to take the pain away from her.

We would never want anyone to have to experience what we have been going through. Hug your children tight and tell them you love them everyday!

Bob and I would like to thank everyone for their continued prayers and encouraging words.”
