Help The Minit Shop Rebuild

Hi everyone, our names are Maheen Ahmad and Sidra Javaid. Our fathers (Rizwan Ahmad and Javaid Waseem) ran the Minit Shop gas station which recently burned to the ground due to an electrical fire. There is nothing left and this all happened so suddenly, putting our families in a very stressful financial situation. Seeing how much work our dads always put into the business was always so inspiring and our family has been so heartbroken over this sudden loss.

 

Our family was leasing the building for several years but recently was in the process of buying it. The insurance money went to the owner of the building and as of now, he unfortunately has no plans of rebuilding it. Getting any loans has also become difficult as there is no longer any source of income.

 

The amount of support we’ve already gotten from the community about how much the Minit Shop meant to the town has been more than we could have ever imagined. It has made us realize even more how tight-knit of a community Ridgecrest is. When we were in elementary school, we would hear stories from our friends about how our dads would let them get an extra slushie or candy for free. Now, we have been learning so many more memories from several customers about the kind environment and it has brought us so much joy. Our fathers are the most hard-working and charitable people we know and this fundraiser is to help them rebuild the Minit Shop.
