10/12/2023 update from Sarah, Bill's daughter:
Yesterday morning we sadly lost the greatest father and husband, a man who held an irreplaceable place in our hearts, our dad, William Milversted.
Just last week, he was diagnosed with multiple myeloma, a form of bone marrow cancer. Despite his hospitalization and ongoing treatments, his prognosis remained optimistic. However, God had different and sudden plans for our beloved father and he was called home sooner than expected.
This is a tragic loss for our family, as our dad was such a big presence in our world and to many others. Some of his most cherished titles include husband, grandpa, father-in-law, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend.
We are heartbroken over this loss and he will be tremendously missed. Finding the right words to capture the depth of his significance in our lives is hard to do.
To our dear dad, our Bill, you will forever be in our hearts. Will we always love you and cherish our memories together. ❤️
More details regarding memorial services will be forthcoming.
From Megan, original poster: please consider donating to help the family with their sudden funeral expenses. I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Original post: My name is Megan, and I'm reaching out with a heartfelt plea for assistance on behalf of my dear friends, Sarah Milversted/Lopez & Amy Milversted/Lee. Earlier this week, Sarah & Amy's dad was unexpectedly rushed to the hospital. He has since been admitted, and unfortunately, his condition is severe. A team of medical specialists is working tirelessly around the clock to determine the proper diagnoses. Yes, plural - diagnoses. In the coming week, he is scheduled for surgery, along with ongoing tests. They have told them that he faces a long road to recovery, one that will keep him in the hospital for several weeks.
Complicating matters further is the fact that the hospital is located three-hours from their home forcing the family to travel back-and-forth every couple days. However, his wife, Sally, who is fully disabled, doesn't want to leave his side. Her current situation is far from ideal, as she doesn’t have the proper lodging and accommodations to meet her own needs.
This GoFundMe campaign has been initiated with the purpose of alleviating the sudden and substantial financial burdens. Our goal through this campaign is to extend a lifeline during this time and offer support to the Milversted family as they navigate this emotionally charged journey.
By contributing to this GoFundMe, you will directly assist with essential expenses, including transportation costs, meals, lodging (with a particular focus on Sally's situation), and the mounting medical bills that are rapidly accumulating.
While we've initially set a goal of $6,000, we hope to meet and exceed this amount. Our hope is to provide the family with financial stability, not just for immediate time, but also for future medical expenses and ongoing care. This week has been incredibly challenging, and the emotional toll is great.
Let us rally together to help them, even if it's only for the immediate future. Your generosity and compassion will make a huge difference. To know the Milversteds is to love them. In true Milversted fashion, he is fighting.
I kindly thank you.
