Our friend, Ayumi, is in dire need of some help. Ayumi and her husband Roger have two young children at home, are living in an RV, and Roger has cancer.
Roger works hard to provide for his family and was using their savings to pay for a renovation to their home so they could move out of the RV and into the house. One kid is in school virtually, and the other is hoping to start kindergarten in the fall.
In December, Roger started feel unwell. There was a lump in his throat and he knew something was wrong, so he went to his family doctor for help. It was hard to get an appointment for something other than COVID, but eventually he was seen and some test were ordered. The tests were inconclusive, so he was referred to a dentist, as it was thought an infection from a tooth may have travelled into his jaw. Teeth were extracted in an attempt to remedy the situation, but the lump in his throat remained a problem.
With limited savings and Ayumi caring for the kids full time, Roger had to keep working in order to provide for the family. He work through the pain but was quickly running out of sick leave due the numerous doctor appointments he required.
On Tuesday, February 2, 2021, after months of pain and uncertainly the results of the CT scan, PET scan, and blood tests presented a diagnosis: Malignant Lymphoma.
According to the Mayo Clinic, Malignant Lymphoma is a rare form of cancer which affects the lymphatic system of the body and can spread to other organs, but always requires advanced treatment to cure.
Roger has some health insurance, but the high cost of his treatments and the inevitable loss wages will soon overwhelm the family. I ask that you please donate what you can to help Ayumi, Roger, and their two wonderful children get through this trying time. Thank you!

私たちの友人あゆみさんの旦那様、ロジャーさんの首回りにしこりができ、昨年１２月から体調を崩し始め、とうとう１２月２６日発作を起こして倒れてしまいました。そのまま救急に搬送されて、それから約２か月間の間、原因として考えられる様々な検査や治療をしました。コロナ禍で予約も取りづらく、大きな検査になればなるほど医療費もかかるので、毎週のように検査をすることが不可能でした。
今年２月２日に原因を特定するために、しこりを取り出す手術をしました。
その後、４日に悪性リンパ腫という血液のガンと診断されました。
２月８日から抗がん剤の治療が始まるにも関わらず、ロジャーさんはあゆみさんと、１０歳と４歳の子供２人を養っていくためにガンと診断された後も仕事に行き続けています。
ロジャーさん一家は今RV（キャンピングカー）に住みながら、自分たちで空いている時間に、少しずつ一軒家を建てている最中でした。まだまだ完成するには時間がかかる家、そんな矢先に一家の大黒柱が倒れてしまうという悲劇が起こりました。
アメリカの医療費というのは日本とは比べ物にならず、ロジャーさんがこれから受けるたくさんの検査、抗がん剤治療で多額なお金を払わなければいけません。更に、毎日子供２人の面倒をお家で見ているあゆみさんは主婦ですから、生活費、食費、子供を養うお金、全て払わなければいけません。こんな事態になってしまったあゆみさん、ロジャーさん、そしてお子さん２人を是非ともできる範囲で構いませんので、助けてあげてください。よろしくお願いします。
