Help the Melillo’s beat lung cancer
Donation protected
Let me start this by saying, both of my parents probably wouldn’t want me to do this. We aren’t a family that typically asks for help. As some of you may know. My dad was recently diagnosed with stage 3 small cell lung cancer. He has been in excruciating pain for almost a year and no one knew why. We assumed it was related to a spinal surgery he had 5 years ago. His orthopedic doctor brushed him off and basically called him a liar, sending him to pain management without running any tests. Thankfully the pain management doctor knew something was wrong and that’s when she ordered a scan. This scan revealed a “mass” on his spine that couldn’t be explained. After many more scans and tests and biopsies, it was revealed that there was a tumor growing off of his lung and wrapping around his spine causing his severe pain. Because of the severity of the tumor, it is inoperable. Throughout all of this, his job told him he could no longer work due to the pain medication he had to be on just to function. He gets no paid time off, not even holidays. If he does not work, he does not get paid. Disability still hasn’t kicked in and he just started a combination of radiation and chemotherapy this past Monday, 1/13/20. He is already very sick and very weak. On top of all of this, my mother faces the burden of trying to manage the house and the bills while being there for him every step. If I could take one thing off her shoulders, I will do that. I don’t want my parents questioning how their mortgage, or their gas and electric will be paid. Please share this, and if you’re friends with her on Facebook, please adjust the privacy setting on your post so she cannot see it. She has a fear that somehow, people won’t care, which I know isn’t true. My parents have the biggest hearts of anyone I know. My family has had enough heartache these past few years and we need him to beat this, they deserve happiness.
