Help the McMimster Family Recover After Tree Crushes Their Home
In the midst of winter storms in the Pacific Northwest on December 17th, the McMimster family—Adam, Mariah, Fiona, and Cedar—experienced a devastating and completely unexpected loss when a large fir tree fell onto their home, crushing a significant portion of the house and damaging the back of their van.
Thankfully, everyone made it out safely, but their home sustained major damage and is currently unsafe and uninhabitable. In an instant, they were displaced and faced with emergency repairs, temporary housing, lost belongings, and the long process of rebuilding—all during the cold, wet winter months.
While insurance will help, it does not come close to covering the full scope of what the McMimsters are facing right now. There are immediate out-of-pocket costs for emergency mitigation, lost wages, meals, replacing essential items, and ongoing expenses as they navigate repairs and recovery.
Adam and Mariah are devoted parents, thoughtful neighbors, and the kind of people who show up for others. Now they need our help.
Funds raised will go toward:
- Emergency housing and living expenses
- Repair and rebuilding costs not covered by insurance
- Replacement of essential household items
- Transportation needs after the loss of their vehicle
Any amount—large or small—will make a meaningful difference as they work to rebuild stability and safety for Fiona and Cedar.
If you’re able, please consider donating and sharing this fundraiser. Your support will help the McMimsters focus on healing and rebuilding during an incredibly difficult time.
Thank you for surrounding this family with care, generosity, and community.
