Help the McKissick Family in Crisis

Meet Angela, Joe, and Isaac McKissick. Tuesday, May 27, Joe had a stroke at work. Thankfully he got help quickly. They used clot busting drugs and removed the clot. After the stroke, he has been able to move both feet and toes. His left arm and hand seem ok, but his speech and function in his right arm have been affected. He is currently admitted to the ICU in Roanoke Memorial where they have performed procedures to locate the source of the clot that likely caused the stroke and to break up that clot to prevent another one.

They are keeping him under observation while they carefully treat a clot in his heart that was likely the source of the first clot that caused the stroke.

Joe and his family have a long road ahead of them as Joe recovers. While Joe recovers, his family is without his income, medical bills and consistent trips to and from Roanoke are adding up quickly.
