Help the McKinney Family Find Rest and Healing

Dear Friends and Family,

As a close friend of Mark and Michelle's, I am compelled to share their story. The McKinney's need us. After 25 years in ministry, Mark and Michelle have given everything to serve others. They are currently at their breaking point—physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

For the past seven years, life has hit them relentlessly. They launched Reunion Church, navigated COVID, and endured unimaginable struggles—mental health crises, ongoing medical battles, and EIGHT surgeries within their family.

Two of their four adopted children require constant medical care, leaving them drained. In December, their daughter was hospitalized in a psychiatric ward. Since then, every day has been a battle to keep her safe. The images of police, paramedics, and hospital rooms still haunt them. If you’ve faced something similar, they understand your pain. They know they’re not alone—but that doesn’t make the fight any easier.

Through it all, Michelle found an outlet: running. It was her way to cope—until she couldn’t anymore.

She underwent double knee surgery in hopes of running again. The surgery failed. Then came a breast cancer diagnosis. The radiation treatment has left her with long-term side effects and medication she must take for years to come. Add in a debilitating shoulder injury and chronic pain, and Michelle found herself bedridden for weeks, her body barely holding up under the weight of it all. The stress, the pain, the exhaustion—it broke her heart. And in turn, it broke Mark’s.

Mark, ever the leader, has done what he always does: take care of everyone else. As a husband, father, and pastor, he has put his own needs aside to hold everything together. But now, he’s empty. Depleted. Exhausted.

The storms haven’t let up. Depression, heartbreaks, and sheer exhaustion have left Mark and Michelle crying out for a miracle. They have poured themselves into their family, their church, their community and their calling. But they can’t keep going like this.

They need us, now.

To give them the support and healing they desperately need, we are raising a minimum of $30,000. These funds will cover:
  • Ongoing medical care and therapy
  • Mental health support and counseling
  • Medications and treatments
  • Ongoing intensive counseling
  • Additional resources to help them recover

And because joy has been so hard to find, we also want to bless them beyond their wildest dreams—with the gift of travel. Somewhere, anywhere, that brings them peace.

Truthfully, the cost of everything they need for their 3-month sabbatical is likely far beyond our goal. But we believe in a God who provides. And we believe in this community—the people whose lives Mark and Michelle have touched for decades.

Will you stand with them now?

We can’t do this without you!
Every dollar, every prayer, every share matters.
Please join me in giving back to the couple who has given so much. Let’s help them heal.
