We’re asking for your help to support the McDuffie family—a loving and resilient family that has been facing an incredibly difficult year filled with hardship, heartbreak, and unimaginable challenges.

In a short period of time, they’ve endured emergency brain surgery, undergone hernia repair, and are now just most recently diagnosed with devastating cancer diagnosis of Squamous cell carcinoma. These serious medical emergencies have placed an overwhelming emotional and financial strain on the family, making it nearly impossible to manage the rising costs of care, travel, and daily living expenses.

Just months before these medical crises began, the McDuffies experienced the heartbreaking loss of their beloved mother, who passed away in August. She had been living at home, and the family lovingly cared for her until the very end—serving as her primary caregivers and supporting her through her final days. Her passing was a profound loss that continues to weigh heavily on their hearts.

As they’ve traveled back and forth to hospitals and specialist appointments, the financial burden has been so great that at times the husband had no choice but to sleep in their car—sacrificing comfort and rest just to remain close to his wife during her surgical procedures and be able to save on lodging costs. It’s a reflection of their strength, devotion, and the depth of the challenges they face.

Because of the severity and timing of these events, the McDuffies were unable to celebrate the holidays together—missing out on cherished traditions and moments of joy during a season that should have brought peace and togetherness. Instead, it was filled with grief, hospital visits, and uncertainty.
