Help The McCoys Rebuild After Tragic Storm Injury&Home Loss

Donation protected
Leonard and Paula McCoy of Huntsville, AR, endured a heartbreaking tragedy during Sunday evening’s severe storms. While temporarily living in their camper as they built their dream home, the unthinkable happened.

Leonard had stepped out for a quick trip to the grocery store, unaware of the rapidly approaching storm. Paula stayed behind in the camper, not knowing that within minutes, heavy rain, hail, and powerful winds would sweep through the area. A massive oak tree came crashing down onto the camper, trapping Paula inside beneath the tree and part of the collapsed ceiling.

For over an hour, Paula lay pinned in the wreckage—exposed to the storm, rain, and hail—while Leonard, family members, and emergency crews worked desperately to reach her. Once she was freed, it took another hour to get her to the hospital, navigating through fallen trees and live power lines.

Paula sustained extensive injuries: a broken hip, broken vertebrae in her back and neck, and every rib fractured. She underwent emergency surgery late Monday night for her hip, followed by another complex surgery Tuesday morning to stabilize her ribs—both procedures taking much longer than expected due to the extent of her injuries. Paula now faces a long, difficult road to recovery, including weeks in the hospital and potentially even longer in an inpatient rehabilitation facility as she learns to walk again.

Tragically, the storm also toppled a tree onto the brand-new home they were building—causing significant damage before they even had the chance to move in.

Leonard and Paula are the type of people who would never ask for help—but would give you the shirts off their backs without hesitation. This GoFundMe is being set up to support them with medical expenses, rebuilding costs, and the overwhelming challenges ahead.

Any contribution, big or small, would mean the world to them. Even if you can’t give, your prayers would be more than appreciated.

Thank you for your prayers, love, and support!

The funds will be deposited to Bradley Moseley, the McCoy’s grandson, who will make sure the McCoy’s receive them.
