Hi, I'm Jael and I am raising money to help my friends who have suffered in the recent floods. I am on the central coast NSW, and being so far away, am unable to help with clean up, however I hope that we can fundraise a decent amount to assist with the major repairs that will be required. The McConnell's have recently had their family home damaged due to the record breaking and unprecedented flooding event in northern NSW, Australia. This is a young family with three children, who have already been through so much already with their daughter Sophie's medical journey in the past few years. Sam and Sam have worked so very hard to get a foot into the soaring property market, and were finally starting to be able to live the great Aussie dream of home ownership, having recently poured life savings, blood, sweat and tears into renovations. This has been a devastating loss, as the flood waters have ravaged thier family home at Wardell. Unfortunately they are not insured for flood damage, as locals told them to cancel after two years of paying the extra premiums- it "never" floods in Wardell. They now have to somehow beg, borrow, and steal, to front the cost of the major repairs needed to make thier family home liveable again. In the meantime, they are effectively homeless and living with friends and family. After studying nursing with Sam many years ago, I have known this family for years, and can testify to the kindness, goodness, and caring way that they serve their friends, clients, patients, and community. They are wonderful people who go above and beyond to help anyone in need.
