On June 27th, the May family's life took a dramatic turn. Their son JP was diagnosed with a brain tumor and required emergency surgery to remove it. Thankfully, the surgery was successful, and they were able to remove the entire tumor. Following the operation, JP spent a month in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). He was then transferred to Children’s Specialized Hospital to receive physical, occupational, and speech therapy.
On August 6th, JP began chemotherapy and radiation treatment. In total, he spent 103 days in the hospital and is expected to be readmitted several times over the next year. While the start of his journey has been challenging, JP's strength and resilience are truly inspiring. He is expected to continue chemotherapy treatments until October of next year.
Throughout this difficult period, Jimmy and Kelly have spent every day by JP's side and will continue to do so, focusing entirely on his recovery. This dedication takes them away from their jobs, and we hope to alleviate any financial stress, allowing them to focus solely on JP without hesitation.
Medical treatment can be extraordinarily expensive. This is occurring as their daughter Ashley is beginning her freshman year dorming in college. The May family is dear to many of us, and although we cannot change their circumstances, we can help ease their financial burden. Every contribution, no matter how small, makes a significant difference. Your ongoing prayers and positive thoughts are deeply appreciated.
