Help the Martinez Family in their time of need

On November 16, 2021 Claudia's husband Eladio became ill and rapidly lost his ability to move and breath on his own. He had to be intubated emergently and placed on a ventilator to save his life. He was diagnosed with Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS). Guillain-Barre is a rare auto-immune disorder that attacks the nervous system causing weakness, numbness, and paralysis to breathing muscles, face, arms, and legs. The cause of GBS is unknown. Treatment options are limited and costly.
Due to a tragic onset of paralysis caused by GBS, Eladio is currently on a ventilator without the ability to breath and move. Although he is aware of his surroundings, his recovery is currently unknown. Recovery and rehabilitation are estimated to take months to a year.
Eladio was the primary financial support to his family before GBS suddenly disrupted his health and turned his family’s lives’ upside down. His present illness had caused tremendous strain emotionally and financially for the family. Our Claudia suddenly becomes, her husband’s primary caretaker and her family’s sole financial provider. While trying to balance being a mother to their girls: Ingrid (13 years old), Yanniz (11 years old), and Mia (their heavenly angel). The girls have not seen their dad since his hospitalization due to visitation restriction. Despite this trial, our Claudia has shown resilience and remains hopeful.
Claudia is our co-worker and our friend. She has spent the last 10 years serving and caring for our US Military Veterans. She is the heartbeat of our department and a true pillar to our organization. Her work ethics are manifested by making sure our Veterans receive proper medical care. As Claudia’s friends and coworkers, we have created this GoFundMe to assist the Martinez family with medical bills and their finances. We are asking for help with monetary donations for Claudia and her family as her husband Eladio battles GBS in a long-term care facility.
Helping the family with their finances is just one way we can help support their family during their time of need. We are also asking for prayers as they face these new challenges in their lives.
