On May 10th, Desiree and her little girl Sophia came home to find an officer waiting in his car in their cul-de-sac waiting for back up to arrive because there was a wanted male teenager running through the woods behind the houses on their street. Desiree and her daughter went in through her basement where she locked the door behind her. She called her sister and brothers to let them know what was going on around her house. A little over an hour later, the male teenager broke into the basement window. Desiree heard noises from her basement. The individual came up the stairs and Desiree ran and grabbed her little girl and then ran towards the kitchen where she had a gun. The individual ran after her and wrestled the gun away while she was holding her little girl. Both Sophia and Desiree sustained minor injuries on their body from being attacked. As soon as the individual took the gun from Desiree, the cops busted the front door in trying to get inside because they saw him break in the basement and they shot the suspect several times while he was standing in the kitchen with Desiree and Sophia.

As you can imagine, Desiree and her husband, Zach are mortified and will not be staying in their home anymore. Home is supposed to be your safe place and that was robbed from them on that evening. They have found a temporary living arrangement and they are trying to downsize all their belongings. This traumatic experience is something you see on the news and think it could never happen to you or your family. No one was prepared for this. Desiree and Zach were just married a little over three weeks ago and now they are strained with this unexpected move and having to be out of work to handle everything. They could use some financial support and lots of prayers during this time.
