Help the Marks Family rebuild their home

My name is Isaac Marks, and my parents' home of 30 years - and the one my brother and I grew up in - was destroyed in the Marshall Fire in Colorado on December 30, 2021. With little notice, my parents Josh and Julie evacuated Louisville, CO midday on December 30 through the high winds, smoke, and chaos of a quickly moving fire that destroyed 991 homes. My partner took the photo below on the morning of December 31 of what's left of their home.

While Josh, Julie, and their dog, Teli, are all safe, they fled their home with few belongings. We lost everything in that house, from baby photos to eating utensils to bicycles and everything in between. It's wild to think about how quickly things happened and how easy it is to feel down, but we will come away from this stronger than before with the wonderful community that exists around us (read: you).

Right now, we're just trying to get everyday essentials for my parents as we figure out next steps with rebuilding our home. We don't know exactly what we'll need for help as we navigate the insurance minefield - which is why we've set the "goal" at $1 - but we promise any funds generously given to us will go to someone who needs it if we do not. If we do need it, it will go toward two things;

It shouldn't come as a surprise, but Josh and Julie are already taking steps toward rebuilding their home and the community as a whole. If, for whatever reason, there are any donated funds left over after the above items are covered, we will find another family (or families) that are in need and make sure they get support.
