On Wednesday October 16th, our son-in-law Andrew Mancini and daughter Noressa Mancini endured a horrific tragedy when their sofa caught on fire resulting in losing their house and all of their belongings.
They have 3 kids, Jaxon, age 5, Luca age, 3, and Emma who will be turning 1 on October 27th. These kids have lost all their belongings including clothes, beds, crib, toys, and everything that kids and babies need.
Andrew is an Veteran who served in the Army as an Explosive Ordinance Disposal Tech for 6 years. After serving in the Army he chose to go into the Secret Service. This was around the time when President Trump was first in office. As you can imagine Andrew has been traveling a lot especially since the 2 assassination attempts. Noressa has been a strong wife and mother holding down the fort while supporting her husband as he protects a very important Presidential candidate.
Noressa was at home with the kids while Andrew was out of town working when the fire engulfed the house. Andrew of course took the first flight home. Thank God they all made it out safe and sound with just the clothes on their back. I included my daughter's Facebook post because her words say it all.
" Wednesday changed my life forever. I wasn't going to post any of this but I know I need support right now. Yesterday I stepped into the house for the first time since our couch decided to set our entire house on fire, and all I can see where the moments leading up to this. The basket of laundry i was going to fold, the amazon Christmas catalog I was going to circle with the kids. We finished dinner and were sitting to start homework time, when I looked over and saw the side of our couch on fire. I rushed for the fire extinguisher under our sink, but once I turned around the fire was rapid and I had no choice but to get the kids and run out of the house and yell for help. All we had were the clothes on our back and my phone in my pocket.
My neighbors all came running out as I was on the phone with 911 and they stood and watched my house start burning with me. We watched all the blinds and curtains melt off and heard all of the glass shattering, and time froze in the moment as I watched the fire trucks come hurdling into our neighborhood, but the moment I called my husband to tell him our house was on fire was a moment I don't even remember. I don't know what I said, but all I knew was that he was on the first flight back home. And ever since he's been home, he has been taking care of everything! I couldn't ask for a more supportive, loving, and strong husband!
But the main reason for this post is to thank every single neighbor, fireman, police officer, first responder, coworkers, friends, family members, and beyond that have poured so much love and generosity into us. Helping us get clothes, diapers, shoes, food, and all the resources we need to recover. I never knew how big my community was until know and I feel the love and support. More than anything though I have to thank GOD!! I feel God in all of this. I felt God protect the kids and myself while we evacuated, I felt God in the breeze as we watched the house, I saw God slam the front door shut on the home and ultimately stop the fire. I saw God in all the brave men and women climbing ladders and in the water being sprayed over our home. I felt God in a gust of wind as a neighbor prayed over me. I feel God in all of the generosity from our people. I feel God in the timing, because if this was in the middle of the night, it would of been fatal for all of us. God kept us safe and that's all I could ever ask for! We are safe and loved!
We have a long road ahead. We have lost everything from fire, smoke, and water damage. We are in the process of saving anything we can that holds value to us, and working with insurance." Noressa Mancini
As we all know insurance does not cover a lot of items and boy are there a lot of items that they all need. There are a lot of things that can not be replaced but, I would like to help them make this horrific event a little better if we can. They have to cover insurance deductibles, deposit on rental house. They need everything that a family of 5 needs for everyday living! Beds, crib, furniture, clothes, school clothes for Jaxon, Back pack for Jaxon, shoes, toiletries, food, diapers, bottles, electronics, high chair, walker, toys, and books for the kids, things for the holidays, diaper bag, etc... this list goes on on on. They really could use as much help as we all can give. Every little bit helps! Your help is so greatly appreciated! Thank you and God bless you all!
