On Thanksgiving night, the Maloon & Rabin family was involved in a serious and terrifying car accident. Danya and the boys, Dex and Harris, walked away with minor bruising — but Nathan Rabin, who took the full impact in the front passenger seat, was critically injured.
Nathan is now in the hospital with a punctured lung and multiple rib fractures. He will be there for at least a week and faces a long, difficult recovery once he returns home. He will be unable to work, and the family will need ongoing support as he heals.
Their 7-year-old autistic son, Harris — Nathan’s constant companion — is having a particularly hard time with the sudden disruption and separation. The emotional and practical strain on the whole family is enormous.
