Hi, my name is Amarrah MaGee, and I’m creating this fundraiser on behalf of my dad, Arsell MaGee, and my younger brothers and sisters.
A few months ago, my dad was in a terrible car accident that changed our lives. On his way to work, a reckless driver hit him head on, forcing his car off the side of the road. The crash was completely not his fault, and the photos (shared here) show just how devastating it was.
My dad survived, but with severe, life-altering injuries, including:
• Cracked sternum and ribs
• A perforated lung
• A fractured left knee and broken tibia
• Nine fractures throughout his ankle bone
• Head and facial lacerations
• Mouth and tongue injuries
• Bruised heels and deep body trauma
He is currently in recovery, but he’s unable to work or provide for us for the foreseeable future. My dad has always been the backbone of our family, the person who never hesitated to help others. Now he needs help himself.
As his eldest daughter, I’m doing everything I can to hold things together. I work full-time while attending college classes, but it’s been incredibly difficult. With my dad out of work, every expense has fallen on me, rent, groceries, utilities, and now mounting medical bills.
We are months behind on bills and dangerously close to losing our apartment. Every paycheck I bring in disappears almost instantly into debt, and I’m doing my best to care for my siblings and help my dad recover. We’re also in contact with lawyers regarding the accident, but the legal and compensation process could take months to years. Until then, we’re on our own.
This GoFundMe is my last hope to help my family stay afloat while my dad recovers. Any donation, big or small, will go directly toward:
• Rent and essential bills
• Groceries and household needs
• Medical expenses and recovery care
• Transportation to and from hospital appointments
If you’re unable to donate, even sharing this page means more than I can say. My dad’s survival is a miracle, and I’m doing everything I can to keep our family together through this.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading, for sharing, and for caring.
