Backstory: Cheryl and Pete Magaletto had their home destroyed on April 18 in the Fishkill Merritt Park fires. Fire, smoke, and flooding damage has caused them to lose the entire contents of their home.  Thankfully they were able to evacuate the apartment with their dog, Max, and sustained no injuries. They are unsure if they will be able to return to their apartment and retrieve any of their belongings. 

Cheryl is the primary caregiver for Pete, who is living with early onset Alzheimer's. They are currently staying in a hotel,  and do not know how long the will need to stay there.

The Costs: They need funds to find a new place to live, furnish it, and replace important items lost in the fire.
