Help the MacIsaac family stay in their home

Hi, my name is Annalise, and I’m creating this fundraiser for my best friend Daleyn and her family.

I met Daleyn in high school, and ever since then she has been my person. She is truly one of the most selfless people you could ever meet always ready to step in and help anyone in need, even when she’s going through so much herself.

When I first met Daleyn, she was already in Stage 5 kidney failure caused by ANCA vasculitis and was waiting for a kidney transplant. At home, her family was also caring for her younger brother, who is now 16 and has low functioning autism and requires full-time care and support. Earlier this year he had to move into a full-time care home.

Daleyn received her kidney transplant in May 2023. Despite everything she had been through, she pushed forward and completed her first year of college. Unfortunately, in April 2025 she rejected her transplanted kidney and had to return to dialysis.

While Daleyn was in the hospital during this time, her mom discovered a lump in her breast and was soon diagnosed with breast cancer. She underwent a lumpectomy followed by chemotherapy and radiation. Just two months later, she was also diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.

In January, Daleyn’s dad was hospitalized after a fall. While in the hospital he developed pneumonia, and by the end of the month he experienced his first cardiac event after being given a medication he was allergic to. Since then, he has had multiple cardiac events that have caused his heart to stop several times. He has spent months in the ICU and currently has a tracheostomy. Doctors say he will not be able to come home for several more months.

During all of this, Daleyn has been attending dialysis three times a week at a clinic over 45 minutes away in Vaughan and requires someone to drive her to every appointment. This month, her vasculitis has unfortunately returned and is now attacking her left eye and lungs, meaning even more specialist visits, treatments, and medications.

Right now, Daleyn’s mom runs a small business, which has been their only source of income besides disability support. With everything the family is going through, they are struggling to keep up with bills and their mortgage. If the mortgage is not paid in the future, they could lose their home. This house has been their home for many years and is one of the only constants in Daleyn’s life through everything she has endured.

In addition to the mortgage, the family is facing many other financial pressures. Daleyn’s mom’s small business has taken a significant hit due to the current economy. The family is also paying for parking while visiting Daleyn’s dad in the hospital every day.

Once he is able to return home, the house will need renovations to the main floor to accommodate a medical bed and ensure it is accessible for his care, as he is currently unable to lay flat.

Daleyn also requires transportation to and from dialysis and other medical appointments, and because the family does not have insurance, the cost of medications and treatments adds another major financial burden on top of their general living expenses.

Any donation, no matter how small, would help ease the financial stress on this family while they focus on healing and supporting each other. Your support will help them stay in their home, manage medical costs, travel to life-saving treatments, and prepare their home so Daleyn’s dad can safely return when the time comes.

If you are unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser would mean so much.

Thank you for taking the time to read Daleyn’s story and for any support you can offer.
