Help the Lynch family after Ryan's passing
On August 25th my sister Stephanie unexpectedly lost Ryan Lynch, her husband of 19 years. This is a fund raiser to support her and their children while she figures out the state of their finances, and how much more their life will need to change without him.
Ryan had been laid-off since January due to corporate downsizing from a tech career of 20 years. Compounding the tragedy of his death, it came on the day he had been offered a new position with another major tech corporation. A considerable amount of debt had accumulated in those months, and my sister is struggling to determine how much she now owes and if they have any resources left at all. It does not appear that that their life insurance policies survived his layoff.
Utilities and banks and insurance companies do little to work with survivors unless they are listed as coholders of the accounts, and will wait for death certificates and wills while still extracting the family’s money. Every day brings a new surprise cost or fee, some of which she does not have the authority or passwords to deactivate.
The world is full of unfair tragedies hurting good people. If you can spare the resources, please help remove some of the financial burdens of this one from my sister, to give her a little more space to figure out what changes her family will have to make while grieving for Ryan.
