My beloved 35 year old sister-in-love, Kaytrina, suddenly & tragically passed away this past Thursday, December 17. Our entire family is in shock over this - we were not expecting it. Kaytrina was recently living in North Dakota, with my brother, Will, & 2 of their 4 kids. Tori is 12 & Ryan is 17 - they attend their local school, in the 7th & 12th grades. Their oldest daughter, Hayli, 19, graduated High School in 2019, & then moved to live & work in Colorado. The kids grew up in CO, until they moved to a more rural area in North Dakota in 2017. Hayli is living with family. Their other 12 year old son, Charlie, moved to live with his mom & step dad in West Virginia a few years ago.
An asthmatic, Kaytrina had a bad asthma attack on Thursday. The family has been under a lot of stress. Money has been tight since Will lost his job, & Kaytrina was not working as well. Will was able to pick up a part time shift as a local cook, but just started an unpaid leave, as his work is shut down for a 3 week holiday. Kaytrina's asthma was so bad on Thursday, that she stopped breathing & her heart stopped. Thankfully my brother was there with her & called 911. The paramedics arrived & were able to revive her enough to load her into the ambulance, but then she flatlined again. They announced her DOA 10 minutes later when she arrived at the hospital. The diagnosis was an asthma-induced heart attack.
We are all still recovering from the shock & have barely started processing the grief. She was too young, & was the sweetest, kindest spirit. She had been through so much trauma & loss in her own in her life, yet was always so others-focused & had a servant's heart. She was a great mom to her 3 kids, & loved Charlie like her own. Will met Kaytrina in 2013 – they married in 2015. She was my brother’s soul mate – she’s been so patient with all that he has been through as well. They were so happy together.
Would you please help?
First of all, we are looking for Prayer Warriors to cover Will, Hayli, Ryan, Tori, Charlie, & the rest of our family, as we go through this great loss. Please pray for comfort, favor & wisdom. Pray that the right resources would come to Will & the kids as their needs - emotional, financial, medical, legal - are great right now.
Second of all, we are looking for folks to help spread the word - we'd like to make this GoFundMe campaign go public for my brother. After praying for him, would you please share?
If you are able, or know someone who is able, would you please help bless them financially? We are hoping to raise $14,400 - $16,300 for my brother's immediate needs:
$10,000 - Funeral Home, Urn, etc
$1,000-$2,000 - Travel for the Family to Colorado
$2,500 - December/ early January bills (as he is out of work at least the next 3 weeks)
$400-$800 Christmas gifts (Will & Kaytrina were planning on going Christmas shopping yesterday, but instead he had to go to the Funeral Home)
$500-$1,000 - Meals/ Grocery Delivery
Alternately, if you are local & would like to bless them by dropping off meals or wrapped gifts to their doorstep, let us know & we could help coordinate that.
Thank you. Will, the kids, the entire family & I, are so appreciative of your love, prayers, & support.
