Help The Lopez’s Navigate Aiden’s Medical Journey
Donation protected
Please consider helping support our medically complex family through Aiden’s new diagnosis.
Hi, my name is Paije Lopez, and I’m reaching out on behalf of my sweet 10-year-old son, Aiden, and our family. (Which is very hard to do. We are used to helping others, not having to ask for help.) Recently, Aiden was diagnosed with a Chiari I malformation, a neurological condition where part of his brain is pushing into his spinal canal. While we are still learning what this means for his long-term health, this diagnosis has added another layer of uncertainty to our already medically complex lives.
Aiden is one of three amazing boys, all of whom have multiple diagnoses and require ongoing medical care, therapy, and daily support. Life is a constant cycle of appointments, therapies, and advocacy—and while we wouldn’t trade our boys for the world, the emotional and financial strain can be overwhelming.
We are now preparing for a neurosurgery consultation, an upcoming cardiology appointment, the possibility of having to travel out of state for surgery if it becomes necessary, and many other appointments. These challenges are stacked on top of an already demanding therapy and medical schedule for all three of our sons.
We are a one-income family, and with my husband needing to miss work to be present to help with our other two boys for these appointments, the financial burden is growing quickly.
We are starting this GoFundMe for anyone who feels called to support our journey—whether through prayer, a share, or a small donation. Your kindness will help cover:
• Time missed from work (Currently the biggest reason for creating this.)
• Travel to medical appointments- (We are a one vehicle family. Our vehicle is in need of new tires badly to make sure we can make it safely to these appointments.)
• Out-of-state lodging and travel (if needed)
• Meals and essentials during medical trips, etc.
We are so grateful for any support you can offer. Every share, donation, and message of encouragement reminds us that we’re not alone in this fight.
With love and gratitude,
The Lopez Family
