Help The Lloyds with Medical Expenses

Donation protected

Kevin and Debbie Lloyd are long time residents of the Center Grove/ Greenwood area. Both of their grown children, Jessica Lloyd Siesel and Logan Lloyd, graduated from Center Grove HS. Debbie has worked in the school system for nearly 20 years. I've had the privilege of knowing and working alongside Debbie during my career at Maple Grove, and I've come to be a close friend of hers outside of work.

The COVID-19 pandemic has undoubtedly affected the entire world in the number of deaths and severe illnesses, as well as significant financial hardship. As many of you may know, Kevin was diagnosed with COVID-19 in early January of 2021. He quickly required extensive medical attention that led to an extended hospitalization, with many of those days in intensive care. After several weeks in critical condition, it was determined among his medical team that Kevin would need a bilateral lung transplant due to the ramifications the virus had left on his lungs. Kevin went through thorough testing and joined the lung transplant list on February 4th. Fortunately, good news came quickly! Kevin learned that he had a match on February 13th, and underwent an 11+ hour surgery on February 14th for a bilateral lung transplant. Kevin was the first lung transplant in Indiana due to COVID, and one of just a handful nationwide.

Medical expenses can be astronomical for even the most minor surgeries. We anticipate Kevin's medical expenses to easily exceed $250,000 for all of his medical care, including hospitalizations, surgery, medications, and copays for therapies, etc. Kevin is currently on leave from work for recovery, and Debbie is on leave in order to help Kevin with care at home as well as transporting him to daily therapies. Savings and other funds will quickly run out. The money received from this fundraiser will go towards the medical expenses mentioned as well as assisting Debbie and Kevin with other bills that will continue to come in, despite their unfortunate circumstances.

Thanks to the wonderful medical team at Methodist Hospital, as well as the many prayers, Kevin is home and feeling well. He is slowly recovering and is feeling incredibly grateful. The Lloyds are a caring and giving couple, and would quickly lend a hand to others in a time of need. This cause is important to me, their friends and family to help return the support to them in what has turned out to be a life-changing event. Kevin and Debbie, their families, and I tremendously appreciate any donation!
