Hi, my name is Samantha, and I’m fundraising for my family. This past year has been extremely hard on us all. For those of you who know us, my wife Libby has had numerous surgeries within the year, the last being a total knee replacement on the right knee. She’s now looking at a replacement on the left knee this coming November. Unfortunately, she was wrongfully terminated from her job while out on Long Term Disability. We are seeking the help of an attorney, but while we play the waiting game, we’ve been struggling to survive on her disability paycheck. We’re not sure how much longer she will continue to receive the paycheck she is getting, and we are still waiting on a decision from SSDI. We have been able to collect government assistance in the form of food stamps and Medicaid, but unfortunately, we do not qualify for any other assistance. I have been searching for employment for some time with no luck (despite lack of reliable childcare), and her disability check has not been enough to cover the cost of rent, car payments & insurance, gas, diapers, etc. Sadly, we’ve come to a point where we have to put our pride aside. As embarrassed as we are to ask, we need help to keep our apartment and prevent our car from repossession. If you know us, you know our kids and we have medical needs, and we absolutely need our car to get to doctors appointments and occupational and physical therapies. If you can give anything, we would greatly appreciate it. ANYTHING helps.
