Final Update: Derrick passed a little after 8 on 3/25 surrounded by his family. I hope he knew how loved he was and am so glad i was there to hold him at the end. A few people have reached out asking to help with final expenses and its always appreciated.

Update: He is still fighting like hell but hallucinations have entered the chat making it almost impossible for me to work and make sure he stays safe because hes gone through days at a time he doesnt remember where he didnt know what was happening. I have only been able to work maybe 1 shift a week needing to be able to care for him especially with oxygen being added to daily care and we have reached financial desperation on bills and every little bit helps so much just trying to keep things going for our babies while he keeps fighting like hell for more time with us.

Update: Things are continuing to go downhill with more and more symptoms and thinsg being affected by the tumors. He rarely has an appetite anymore and walking has become hardet with bone pain. We so so appreciate all help because its harder and harder to work and still be able to afford his quality of life care as this awfule disease steals him from us.

UPDATE: After struggles with treatment and it not working he has decided to stop treatment. The tumours have continued to grow and there are now more. Because of how physically healthy he is other than the cancer the doctors estimate 4 to 6 months. Putting an expiration date on our family that also lines up with the holidays hurts like hell.

what has felt like the longest month ever my husband got diagnosed with stage 4 Sarcoma and has started to enter liver failure. He went in for what we thought was his gallbladder to find out he had tumors in most of his organs and its likely to late to operate with how its metastisized. They want to start him on chemo to try to slow down the aggressive growth and buy some more time for our family to make as many memories as we can and just enjoy being with him. Through all this he has stayed strong even though I know he's been going through hell and one of his biggest concerns has been me not drowning in bills while supporting him through chemo and any other treatments while trying to also keep our two young kids stable. We're not usually the ones to ask for help but not being able to work while caring for my husband and keeping as much "normal" as possible for the kids per his wishes has hit us hard. The back and forth to uva for treatments and eventual funeral costs means every little bit counts and we are so so greatful for everyone who is able to help I second what he's been saying as a family who got hit out of nowhere, if you think you need to get checked for something medically dont put it off because you never know how fast things can go
