Hi everyone,

Reaching out for help is incredibly difficult for my family, but we have exhausted all of our options. During our annual summer vacation in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, my mom became severely ill due to a massive kidney stone that couldn’t pass on its own. She went into septic shock and multi-organ failure. For the past two weeks, she has been in the ICU here in Myrtle Beach. We are desperately trying to arrange an air ambulance to bring her back to Ohio, where we have more support, but insurance will not cover the cost.

Many friends and family have asked how they can help, and this is what we need right now. My mom is a fighter and has expressed she is not ready to give up. She has a lot to live for: she is celebrating her 45th wedding anniversary with my dad at the end of this month, she is a wonderful mother of six children, and an even more amazing grandmother to nine grandkids. She has dedicated the past 50 years to caring for others as a nurse, and we urgently want to get her back to her hospital in Ohio, where we know she will receive the best care.
