Help the Lemke Family Beat Cancer in 2022!

As this year draws to a close, I want to take the chance to update friends and family who are following. Julian was diagnosed with ALL (acute lymphoblastic lymphoma) on June 15th. At this point, that's meant just over 6 months of aggressive chemotherapy, about a dozen needles in his spine, and over 50 days in the hospital, including several trips to the ER. Cancer is such an ugly disease that keeps surprising us in the worst ways.

This last year has been the hardest and longest of our lives. The 6 months since Julian being diagnosed has honestly felt like more than a year. But we've gotten through it, thanks to help and support from so many of you, and there is an end in sight.

From Julian: "I have to thank Brittany before anyone else, because she has done the job of two parents, and a caregiver, as well as her actual full time job, for six months. I mostly sat on the couch and watched Bobby Flay. I have to thank my children for just being constant sources of joy.

And then...I have to thank everyone who is reading this and so many who aren't. Friends and family, your support has meant so much. You helped change what could have been the worst year of my life, to the worst year of my life but I'm not bankrupt! But really, we owe you all so much and I am deeply grateful."

As much as we're anticipating the new year, unfortunately, everything starts all over again tomorrow. New deductibles and out-of-pocket maxes. Three to four more months of chemo, followed by maintenance and rehab. So for 2022 we are, again, asking for help. Our family couldn't have gotten through this past year without all of your kindness and generosity, and this next year will be the same. We so appreciate you all for helping us to keep beating this cancer!
