Help the Leesville chained horses

As our followers and horse community here are aware, we have taken in the surviving horses from the recent cruelty case in Leesville. The three surviving horses are in great need of care after the horrific abuse and neglect that they suffered. We appreciate the concern for these horses. We've had folks asking what they can do to help. We have made a list of the expenses we are working on right now to help these sweet horses start to heal.

For starters, the rescued stud needs to be gelded as soon as possible. The two mares are most likely in foal, and need to be palpated at a minimum. One of the mares seems to have an old break to one of the front legs, and needs an X-ray.

All three need to see the ferrier for corrective trimming after severe neglect. We also have to deworm all three.

Because of the amount of time the stud had been made to constantly pull a jack, we need to have an equine chiropractor examine his neck and spine at a minimum.

These are all of the expenses we are making arrangements for at this time. We will update every one as we become aware of anything else. Thank you to all of you wanting to help us get these sweet horses on the road to recovery.
