Shalana and Travis had their lives turned upside down when a devastating fire destroyed their home while they were away at a family member's home. In just a few minutes they lost all of their belongings, two cherished pets, and lots of family memories. The shock and heartbreak of receiving a phone call that their home was on fire was unimaginable.
Travis is a former deputy with West Baton Rouge Sheriff's office where he worked within the corrections department. . In early 2024 Travis was medically retired due to a traumatic brain injury that has left him disabled and unable to work. In addition he is a third generation volunteer firefighter for the Erwinville Volunteer Fire Department. He had to relinquish this role after the brain injury. Travis has always been dedicated to his community and willing to offer help as a volunteer firefighter any way that he could. Giving this up was heartbreaking for him. Shalana is also disabled and can not work due to health issues.
If you are able, please consider donating to help Travis and Shalana recover from this tragedy. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a real difference for the family who has always been there for their community. We know that the holiday season is financially tough on many so any amount is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your support and for helping them find hope in the midst of heartbreak.
