Help Our 8th Graders Reach Antigua, Guatemala!
For over 45 years, The Learning Tree Cultural Preparatory School has been a pillar of the Bronx, teaching our children that their potential is limitless. After a challenging few years of displacement and rebuilding, we are more determined than ever to provide our students with the life-changing experiences they deserve.
This year, our 8th-grade class is preparing for their most important milestone yet: a service-learning journey to Antigua, Guatemala.
A Tradition of Global Citizenship
At The Learning Tree, we don't just teach from textbooks; we teach through the world. Our students graduate as global citizens who understand the power of service. In the past, our 8th graders have traveled to Ghana, Brazil, Egypt, and South Africa—not just as tourists, but as young leaders. They have built water wells in Ghanaian villages and provided direct aid to communities in need.
This trip to Guatemala is the culmination of their journey at The Learning Tree. It is where their lessons in history, Spanish language, and community service come to life.
Why This Trip Matters
Our 8th graders have worked tirelessly to reach this point. By supporting this campaign, you are ensuring that:
- Financial barriers are removed: Many of our families are hardworking residents of the Bronx who believe deeply in this mission but need community support to cover international travel costs.
- Cultural Immersion: Students will engage in language exchange and explore the rich Afro-Guatemalan and Indigenous history of the region.
- Service in Action: Our students will participate in meaningful community service projects, continuing our legacy of "giving back" that starts in our Nursery program.
How You Can Help
The Learning Tree has always been "the school that could" because of people like you. Whether you give $25, $100, or $500, you are directly investing in the perspective and future of a Learning Tree student.
Please donate today and share this journey with your network. Help us show our students that the world is open to them.
With gratitude,
The Learning Tree Family
