Help Overturn SB658 and Restore Local Control
Hello!! The Oklahoma State Medical Association and a group of concerned parents have filed a lawsuit against SB 658, which prohibits mask requirements in public schools, universities, and tech centers. It strips local control from school boards, boards of regents, and municipalities and consolidates it with the governor. This is an overreach of power and is clearly unconstitutional, so these parents and doctors have sued Governor Stitt to overturn this unconstitutional law.
Cases are rising exponentially in Oklahoma. The delta variant is not only more contagious than previous variants of the virus but it is also more dangerous to children. It flies in the face of medical science as well as common sense to refuse the simple and lifesaving measure of masks in schools, particularly for younger children who are not yet eligible for vaccination.
This fight is vital and we cannot do it alone. Please contribute whatever you can to pay the legal fees for the lawyers fighting this dangerous law. If you would prefer to donate to the law firm directly you may telephone the Riggs Abney law firm and ask to speak to Sheila Williams or Emily Edmondson.
