Help the Lawrence Ladies get back on their feet
Donation protected
Hi folks, one of my sister’s friends set up a Go Fund me for my mom and sisters. I am a little embarrassed I did not do it first. Many of you know, my mom is coming off back to back strokes, coupled with pneumonia and 2 strains of bacteria in the blood. It was touch and go, but thanks to the quick actions of my sisters and the Portland emergency network, her life was saved, and lasting damage was minimized.
While my mom has insurance, there are tons of co pays, deductibles and she WAY exceeded the out of pocket max. Concurrently, my sister Valory is dealing with rehabbing a chronic pain issue and has been on disability (very small) for several months. She has several doctor/therapy visits a week and is having a hard time.
Everything I know about life and everything I value, came from my mom. My mother and sisters are the most generous, selfless people I know. Their door and hearts are always open and the share beyond expectations. I once told someone “If my mom has a dime, and you are broke, you both have a nickel.” She taught me to get involved, to care, to give of yourself, and share your blessings. I cannot count the people who have stayed with my family when they went through a rough patch – and my door and heart is always open because of her.
They have to have some renovations to their place – a better access door and better stairs and ramp. The firemen struggled with getting my mom out because of the layout. She was also sent home to finish the rehab. Co pays, walkers, modified toilet seat, and other necessities are adding up. Please give what you can to help them.
Even a donation of $1 or $5 with a note of support would be awesome. She has spent a life of serving, I hope we can help her get back on her feet.
