The Story

If you had one week left on earth, what would really matter to you?

Ryan Aquino is a 13-year-old Filipino-American teenager living in the suburbs with his family. His parents are middle class religious immigrants who work to give him a better life. Ryan has big dreams for himself after middle school, but has no idea how to get there yet. Suddenly, things change as he finds out that he only has one week left before the world ends. As others fear and chaos ensues, Ryan, his best friend, and his family try to figure out how they can truly live the last week of their lives.

Directors Statement

“I am currently in a state of being blind to what’s next. Some days I feel on top of the world while some days I feel like I’m lost. My emotions fluctuate. There’s no true structure to life and that in itself can feel scary but also beautiful. Am I running out of time and wasting my life? Do I need to slow down and focus on my family? Am I even going in the right direction? Or am I chasing nothing at all? I hear so many people questioning these as well which leaves me to believe that this film needs to be made. I want to explore all these feelings while also putting my own life experiences of being Filipino into this film."
