Urgent—Risk of Homelessness: Help the Langagers Part 2

Donation protected
Susan, John, and their son David are facing an emergency—one that could leave them homeless within days.

• They were forced out of their rental home because of severe black mold. They have been staying in an extended stay hotel but they don’t have the money to stay past April 22. Mold remediation has not started and there’s no clear timeline for returning home.
• Susan’s health remains critical. At today’s weekly paracentesis she had 7.2 liters of fluid drained from her abdomen. She is exhausted, has more tests next week, and shows no clear path to long-term recovery yet.
• John’s seasonal job ends at the end of May and they count on that income. He does receive social security but it doesn't go far.
• They are applying for disability and other supports, but those processes take weeks to months and won’t prevent an imminent eviction from the hotel.
What they need now
• Immediate funds to extend hotel housing while remediation and benefits are arranged.
• Short-term donations of any amount to cover nights, food, and basic needs.
• Shares and reach: telling friends and networks will increase the chance of faster help.
How you can help
1. Donate any amount — every contribution keeps them off the street.
2. Share this message with your networks to widen reach.
3. If you can, connect them with local resources: short-term housing, rapid financial assistance, or medical advocacy.
Thank you to everyone who has already supported Susan, John, and David. Your help matters now more than ever.

Background!
Over the past year and a half, Susan’s health has steadily declined. She lives with worsening vision, severe pain, and cirrhosis caused by NASH, a serious liver disease. Each week, she undergoes painful procedures to remove fluid from her abdomen so she can breathe and function. Doctors say a liver transplant will be in her future.

Susan’s husband, John, has also faced serious health challenges, including multiple TIAs that put him at risk for stroke. When he is by Susan’s side—as he often must be—there is no income coming in. John is not salaried, and time away from work means no pay.
The medical bills are mounting, and the financial strain is overwhelming.

This fundraiser will help cover medical expenses, medications, travel for care, and basic living costs so the Langagers can focus on health and healing instead of financial stress.

If Susan or John have ever been part of your life—through work, friendship, school, church, or simple kindness—please consider giving. Give for Susan, who has always been the first to care for others. Give for John, who continues to stand faithfully beside his wife. And give for their son, David, a high school senior facing an uncertain year.

Any amount helps. Every gift makes a difference.

Thank you for supporting the Langagers and for keeping this family in your prayers.
