Help The Family In Tsum Valley After Loss By Fire
Donation protected

UPDATE ON MY NEPHEW’S HOTEL FIRE IN TSUM VALLEY, NEPAL: Thankfully,
My nephew Tsering Norkey and his family have decided to rebuild their burned-out hotel and restaurant in Tsum Valley, Nepal. (FYI Tsum Valley is beyond the high Himalayas that are seen to the north of Kathmandu, Nepal)
The family is very encouraged by your generous support and donations and wishes to rebuild their presence in the valley. Sonam Lotyo Lama, the first licensed Tsumba architect, will redesign the hotel and restaurant to again ensure appropriate Tibetan/Tsumba designs and decorations that are unique to this region.
If you have donated before, thank you so much. Please consider an additional contribution to ensure a continued presence in the valley of this valuable hotel and restaurant.
On January 13, 2024, my nephew Tsering Norkey Lama's new TREKKER'S HOME in the remote Tsum Valley, Nepal was destroyed by fire. The hotel was closed for the winter season and thankfully no one was injured. You can see from the photos that nothing was left of the structure. My nephew's life's savings had gone into the hotel and restaurant - which was his only income. There was also a sizable amount of cash and valuables lost in the tragic fire.
Tsering has a wife and 5 girls under the age of 12. They are now homeless in the middle of winter and must continue to repay their signifiant loan that he used for the new construction of the "Trekker's Home."
Every little bit helps ... "Little drops make an ocean." What can you donate to help this family's tragic situation, so they can put their lives back together and continue on?
All the money raised will be given to Tsering Norkey's family for them to rebuild their hotel with restaurant, replace essential items, living expenses, temporary housing, emotional support and other emergency needs they will have.
