Help the Lafferty Family Rebuild After a Devastating House Fire

On December 9th, the unthinkable happened. The Lafferty family—who had just moved to the Maynard community only a few weeks ago—lost everything in a sudden and devastating house fire. In a matter of minutes, years of memories, belongings, and the holiday gifts they had carefully purchased for their children were gone. Thankfully, everyone made it out safely, but the family is now standing in front of a long, difficult road to rebuilding their lives.

This tragedy could not have come at a worse time. The Laffertys have faced tremendous loss in the past, and just as they were beginning to feel settled and hopeful in their new town, disaster struck. Despite the hardships they’ve endured, they have always been the first to step up for others—volunteering at school events, offering a helping hand to neighbors, and giving whatever they could to anyone who needed it. They are true “community people,” the kind of family that makes a town feel like home.

Today, they are the ones who need us.

The fire and water damage took everything: clothing, furniture, household essentials, school supplies, and all the Christmas presents they had quietly saved and shopped for over the past few months. They are starting from scratch with nothing but the clothes they escaped in.

We are raising funds to help this loving, generous family replace the essentials and begin rebuilding their lives—especially to give their children the Christmas they were so excited for. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a real and immediate difference.
